This
will be my last Tropical Tale for this year. My
how time has flown! I was so
busy writing two novels, twelve hours a day,
that I barely had time to be human. As usual,
my husband, a retired commercial pilot, did not
know what to do with himself, except be my
aviation technical advisor, and make a
nuisance of himself. I don't know who
was worse, the dogs craving my attention or a
computer widower, not finding his favorite
tennis shirt. Nothing annoys a writer
more than being interrupted while creating the
next Pulitzer Prize, with a "honey,
where is the American mustard? You know
I don't like all that fancy European stuff you
buy. Is it in this fridge or the one in
the garage?" Luckily, he kept busy
wallpapering, painting, and refurbishing this
old house. But he also managed to break
his knee while playing tennis on an Andy
Roddick dropshot. I was frantically
typing the finishing sentences on a novel when
my nursing skills were immediately required,
with tons of my attention, gallons of sympathy
and an eternity of my quickly vanishing
patience.
Publishing
deadlines are like airline schedules; they
don't want to wait no matter what the excuse!
My dogs sat under my desk and wanted to
contribute to my literary efforts with their
company, barking orders when they wanted to be
fed because I had totally forgotten about
time, being absorbed in a torrid love scene
falling off the page.
I
am eagerly looking forward to 2005 and
meeting all my readers, and making new
friends, and hearing your comments about my
books. I would like to thank all the
people who worked with me these past months:
Eddy Motketsan, a fellow author and computer
engineer who will be handling my new websites:
www.alinkazyrmont.net
and www.alinkazyrmont.com.
Bill Keefrey, the photographer I have worked
with over the past ten years and who makes me
look great with his lighting. Vid Beldavs,
my publisher from AuthorHouse, thank
you for all your professional advice, and
endless suggestions on my soon to-be-released
books. Gary Clark, for his lovely piano music
for my site. And Continental Airlines
for flying me safely from Florida to Europe to
do research for my stories.
I
wish each and everyone of you a romantic 2005;
put a little romance in your life - have an
affair - whether it be with someone else, or
an affair of great importance!
HAPPY
NEW YEAR
