TUCSON FESTIVAL OF BOOKS 2010

The second annual Tucson Festival of Books held on the campus of the University of Arizona campus was a resounding success, with the cooperation of fantastic weather. The festival drew around 50,000 people over two days and more than 400 writers, including yours truly.

There was a large selection of books about mystery, romance, politics, sports, science, human rights, culinary, fitness training, poetry, screen writers, an international venue of Hispanics writers: Nuestras Raices; and even classes on how to write books. There were many authors lecturing about their stories and plenty of activities for the kids, with cartoon characters, music, and some of the presenters entertaining both young and adults alike. The festival also helped raise awareness of literary issues teaching kids to love to read books. It was my father's extensive collection of books that molded my young mind with adventures and fantasies which later led to a writing career.
